Is life preventing your floors from looking their best? Between children, pets, furniture scratches, and general use, your floors will slowly start to show signs of wear over time.
Early intervention is the key to good maintenance practices. The Natural Wood Floors team uses the highest-quality machines—including our brand-new scrubber—to deep clean and rejuvenate your floors, keeping them looking as fresh as the day they were installed.
Recoating
Re-coating should be part of your long term maintenance plan.
A simple cut back and top coat extends the life of your floor and can bring it back to near new again. Keep in mind, this should be done before your floor shows signs of excess wear, it should be viewed as preventative maintenance as only a full re-sand can remove deeper scratches and marks.
Frequently asked questions
Heavy furniture can leave marks on solid wood floors or engineered flooring. We advise using protective pads on the bottom of all furniture to avoid any marks. Please note – plastic casters may also leave marks. Avoid these to reduce scratching and scuffing.

No wooden floors are immune to scratches and dents, but there are a few extra things you can do to maintain your floor:
Â
- Wipe up any spills immediately – these can potentially stain the floor and/or impact the finish if left unchecked.
- Place doormats and rugs at entrances and exits.
- Make sure your furniture pads are properly maintained, these will need to be replaced from time to time.
- Keep in mind that high-heeled shoes can cause dents.
- Rearrange furniture and rugs regularly – particularly those that are exposed to a lot of sunlight to ensure the floor is exposed evenly.
