Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between engineered floors and hardwood floors?
Solid hardwood floors are made from solid wood and are site-finished. Engineered flooring is made from a single piece of hardwood or plywood with a layer of hardwood veneer affixed to the top surface and is usually pre-finished.
How long will it take to have my floors installed?
The installation process of your new floors looks a little different for everyone. This process ranges from 1-3 days for a pre-finished engineered timber floor and up to 2 weeks for a large site-finished solid timber floor.
What do I need to do to prepare for my wooden floor installation?
To prepare for your timber floor installation, we ask that you remove all furniture and clear all of the areas that your flooring is being installed. If applicable, please take all clothing out of your closets, as they tend to hang down and can get in the way. Dust can get in the cupboards, so we suggest using masking tape to seal the small gaps in the doors.
Is the coating durable?
Yes! All of our pre-finished engineered timber floors come with the latest generation UV-cured water-based coating technology.
What makes engineered floors so special?
They are very stable compared with some solid wood floors, they are less susceptible to moisture and temperature and can be glued to almost any surface. They also come pre-finished which means you get to choose from any style or colour your heart desires.
